Q2: “He can grant reprieve and respite in case of punishment for an offense against any law of the land” — is state law supreme than union law? or its not under president’s jurisdiction? What if convict goes to SC and fail there to and appeal to president? Is this questioned framed on the basis of “Rajiv Gandhi Killers pardoning case? ” which is not decided yet. Lot of confusions.
