I am completely able to relate with you , I also felt the same way when I saw question two years back .
but let me clarify what all you are saying isn’t curtailmeat it’s how the law has been made , curtailing means court has power 2x and parliament is making it x . -

yes thats right …but the question is “The jurisdiction and power of the Supreme Court can be curtailed by the Parliament.” and there are many instances where Parliament may, by law, exclude the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in:
(i) Disputes between States regarding the use, distribution or control of waters of any inter-state river or river valley.
(ii) Matters referred to the Finance Commission
(iii) Adjustment of certain expenses between the Union and the states under Article 290.
……etc..
Even one instance of negation makes the answer as ‘NO’.
I think in such options the context should be given else answer will be ‘no’

but for some provisions it can be done …e.g. Inter state water dispute art 262 .. Parliament can curtail the powers or jurisdiction of SC . -

No,he cannot withdraw it on his descretion. Its the Council of Minister only decision only,later in the 44th amendment additional provision was added empowering Lok Sabha passing a resolution disapproving its continuance. Prior to that only Prez(CoM) had the right to revoke.

similarities and differences between President and Governor:
Similarities
●Both the President and Governor have the status of Constitutional Heads.
● All executive decisions are taken in their name but actual power is exercised by Council of Ministers
●All ordinary / money bills passed must get their assent before they become an act.
●Both of them have powers to promulgate ordinances
● All Money bills can be introduced with prior recommendation of President in the Lok Sabha and Governor in the state legislature.Differences
●The discretionary powers of Governor are with wider scope in the state than the President in the Union.
● Governor cannot grant pardon to somebody convicted and sentenced to death, although he can commute such sentence.
●Only president has power to pardon someone sentenced to death.
●President can nominate two members of Anglo-Indian Community in Lok Sabha, Governor can nominate one member of Anglo-Indian Community in State Legislature.
●President nominates 12 members in Rajya Sabha. Governor nominates 1/6th members of State Legislative Council wherever bicameral legislatures exist in states.
● Only President can declare war or peace.
●Only President can pardon a person punished under Martial law. -
