  10. Thank you so much ma’am. Sometimes we just miss the obvious. After reading this article, i flipped through my notes and saw much scope for improvement. I was always weighed down by scouting for various aspects for an issue , and nailing the rights keywords to make my notes fruitful. However, it was very much draining. I realized i am probably laying too much stress on keywords and losing my originality . So today, i dropped my pen , and just read the article in newspaper without the tendency to judge it , and then just kept the newspaper aside and tried penning down what i understood. I surprised myself by the flow i achieved , the important points i summarised , without the cost of doing away with keywords. thank you so much because this article nudged me towards an exercise which lifted a very heavy psychological weight off my mind, because at the end of the day, we can’t carry everything to the examination room except our understanding in our own words. Thank you for sharing your notes, that helped me gain the confidence that i have been longing to achieve in my preparation.

  11. She has shared what worked for her. We did not find anything different from what normal aspirants with some experience do with respect to newspaper. We do not think there is anything that is normal.

The newspaper notes are not your best work. If newspaper notes are your best work, you are probably not doing justice with newspaper notes.

Newspaper notes, should just be summary of the article or the main points of the article to ensure that you are able to recall all the points. Thats all. Anything beyond that will take 2-3 hours on a daily basis, and will be detrimental to your preparation

read the notes uploaded by her before following the advice blindly. these are supposed to be her best work.

i had met her before results (during interview prep). she was clueless as s#it about even basic stuff. These are post facto analysis done by toppers at later stage. avoid such half baked knowledge.

But, i have no credentials, so you are welcome to trash my arguments.

  15. thanks friend, it would be of much use for me now. will follow ur suggestions. thanks much:)

  16. Even if you read editorials you must not take more than 1.5 h, because important editorials perday would be hardly more than 2……(for example in todays hindu paper almost all editorial content is repeated)….you must be very selective in reading news articles bcoz each editorial is equal to an essay….and if u read all of them daily its would be overwhelming……..:)

  17. mam, thank you so much, very useful article.
Mam, you using u finished paper in 1 hour that includes articles as well? Please dont mind me asking this. I have been reading paper for one last year, i take 2-2.5 hours with articles and 1 hour without article for making notes.
So mam, if 1 hour includes articles as well, i need to improve right?
