The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is the national regulatory body for Indian pharmaceuticals and medical device.It functions under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act,1940.CDSCO comes under Directorate General of Health Services,Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

DTAB is highest statutory decision-making body on technical matters related to drugs in the country.It was constituted as per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act,1940.It is part of Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB) has recommended that the Centre should include all medical devices in the country under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act,1940 in a phased manner.Currently,the government regulates 27 notified medical devices under the law.

The Tea Board of India is a state agency of the Government of India established to promote the cultivation, processing, and domestic trade as well as export of tea from India.

It was established by the enactment of the Tea Act in 1953 with its headquarters in Kolkata.

India has set up an Indo-Pacific division in the foreign office. The new division is intended to give a coherent architecture to the Indo Pacific policy, which was articulated by the prime minister at the Shangri-La Dialogue in 2018.

The division will integrate the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), Asean region and the Quad to the Indo-Pacific table.  The US also recently renamed its Pacific Command to the Indo-Pacific Command as it seeks to give significance to its Indo-Pacific policy.

India is also planning to put greater energy to the IORA because the heart of its Indo-Pacific policy is rooted in the Indian Ocean. This will integrate the blue economy part of the Indian policy with the security part which is a trilateral security mechanism between India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) was constituted in 2001 to ensure expeditious procurement of the approved requirements of the Armed Forces in prescribed time frame by optimally utilizing the allocated budgetary resources.DAC is headed by Union Defence Ministry.

DAC has been providing policy guidelines to acquisitions,based on long-term procurement plans.It also clears all acquisitions,including imported equipment and those produced indigenously or under a foreign licence.

During the 5th meeting of Island developement agency, Four islands in the Andamans and three in Lakshadweep have been identified for seaplane operations, while private sector participation has been invited for tourism based projects.

These islands are Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, Hutbay and Long in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kavaratti, Agatti and Minicoy in Lakshadweep have been identified for seaplane operations.

Iran has unveiled a “state-of-the-art” domestically produced submarine capable of firing cruise missiles. It is Iran’s first submarine in the semi-heavy category.

Since 1992, Iran has developed a homegrown defense industry that produces light and heavy weapons ranging from mortars and torpedoes to tanks and submarines.
