Here’s the 44^th Edition of the EPIC Magazine!

The Focus Article of EPIC December 2023 covers the issue of COP28, Climate Negotiations and India’s Role, and the Loss and Damage Fund. The COP28 was held in Dubai, UAE. The most significant outcome of the Summit has been the operationalisation of the Loss and Damage Fund. For the first time, countries have formally acknowledged the role of fossil fuels in global warming. Simultaneously, the focus has been on expansion of renewable energy as well as adaptation measures. However, critics have lamented the lack of ambitious climate action. No timeline has been set for phase-out of fossil fuels. For the Loss and Damage Fund, no commitment has been made regarding the funding, and the principle of Common But Differentiated Responsibilities (CBDR) has been diluted. So overall, the progress on climate action has been slow, leaving much to be desired.
