Quarterly-SFG-Jan-to-March
Red Book

[A] 1 and 2 only

[B] 2 and 3 only

[C] 1 and 3 only

[D] 1, 2 and 3

Answer: B
Notes:

Explanations –

Statement 1 is incorrect. Delimitation is based on population, not geographical size.

Statements 2 and 3 are correct. The strength of the Lok Sabha (543 seats) was frozen based on the 1971 Census by amendments to the Constitution, and this freeze will remain in place until after the first Census following 2026. Article 81(2) of the Constitution specifies that the ratio between the number of seats allocated to a state and its population should be, as far as practicable, uniform across all states.
