• Statement 1 is correct– Data anonymization is a type of information sanitization whose intent is privacy protection. It is the process of removing personally identifiable information from data sets, so that the people whom the data describe remain anonymous.  
• Statement 2 is correct- Tokenisation refers to replacement of actual credit and debit card details with an alternate code called the “token”, which will be unique for a combination of card, token requestor and device. A tokenised card transaction is considered safer as the actual card details are not shared with the merchant during transaction processing. 
• Statement 3 is correct- Surfing the web or transacting through an unsecured Wi-Fi may make private information and browsing habits of an Individual vulnerable to eavesdropping by strangers using the same network. VPN gives online privacy and anonymity by creating a private network from a public internet connection. VPNs mask an Individual’s internet protocol (IP) address so that there online actions are virtually untraceable. Most important, VPN services establish secure and encrypted connections. 
• Recently, a Parliamentary Standing Committee has recommended permanent blocking of VPNs. The report identified VPN services as a “technological challenge” that allow criminals to remain anonymous online and access the dark web to commit crimes bypassing security walls.
