IORA is an inter-governmental organization aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and sustainable development within the Indian Ocean region, comprising member states from Asia, Africa, and Australia. Sri Lanka assumed the chairmanship of IORA for the period 2023–2025 during the 23rd Council of Ministers’ Meeting held in October 2023.
