Indian Constitution has established an independent and integrated judiciary to protect the supremacy of the Constitution. This also allows it to discharge its duties effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Independent and integrated judiciary both are the basic pillars of the Indian Constitution. This has been done to ensure judicial independence.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">Integrated judiciary refers to the <strong>integrated structure<\/strong> of Indian judiciary with the <strong>Supreme Court at the top<\/strong> and the state high courts below it.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">This ensures <strong>constitutional supremacy<\/strong> (via the power of <strong>judicial review<\/strong>) and allows SC to <strong>settle the disputes<\/strong> between the Centre and the states or between the states.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">This ensures a <strong>single system of courts<\/strong> enforcing both the Central as well as the state laws.
