{"id":135181,"date":"2021-09-18T12:21:07","date_gmt":"2021-09-18T06:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?page_id=135181"},"modified":"2021-09-18T12:21:07","modified_gmt":"2021-09-18T06:51:07","slug":"digital-communications-commission","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/digital-communications-commission\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Communications Commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Telecom Commission<\/strong> was set up by the Government of India via a resolution in 1989 with administrative and financial powers of the Government of India to deal with various aspects of Telecommunications.<\/p>\n<p>The Government,<strong> re-designated<\/strong> the &#8216;Telecom Commission&#8217; as the &#8216;Digital Communications Commission&#8217; in 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Members<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Digital Communications Commission consists of a <strong>Chairman<\/strong>, <strong>four full time members<\/strong>, who are ex-officio Secretaries to the Government of India in the Department of Telecommunications and <strong>four part time members<\/strong> who are the Secretaries to the Government of India in the concerned Departments.<\/li>\n<li>The Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Telecommunications is the <strong>ex-officio Chairman<\/strong> of the Digital Communications Commission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Functions<\/strong>: The Digital Communications Commission is responsible for:<\/p>\n<div class=\"member\">\n<ol>\n<li>Formulating the policy of Department of Telecommunications for approval of the Government;<\/li>\n<li>Preparing the budget for the Department of Telecommunications for each financial year and getting it approved by the Government; &amp;<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of Government&#8217;s policy in all matters concerning telecommunication.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Telecom Commission was set up by the Government of India via a resolution in 1989 with administrative and financial powers of the Government of India to deal with various aspects of Telecommunications.
