{"id":153726,"date":"2021-12-16T12:46:33","date_gmt":"2021-12-16T07:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?page_id=153726"},"modified":"2021-12-16T12:46:33","modified_gmt":"2021-12-16T07:16:33","slug":"saamar-campaign","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/saamar-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"SAAMAR Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News: <\/strong>The Jharkhand government has launched the SAAMAR campaign <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to tackle malnutrition in the state<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About SAAMAR Campaign: <\/strong>SAAMAR is an acronym for Strategic Action for Alleviation of Malnutrition and Anaemia Reduction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aim:<\/strong> The SAAMAR campaign aims to identify anaemic women and malnourished children. Further, the campaign brings together various departments to effectively deal with the major malnutrition problem in the state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Features of the campaign:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SAAMAR campaign has been launched with a 1000 days target. Under this, annual surveys will be conducted to track the progress.<\/li>\n<li>Every <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Anganwadi<\/span> Centres will be engaged to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">identify malnourished children<\/span>. Subsequently, they will be treated at the Malnutrition Treatment Centres.<\/li>\n<li>Similarly, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">anemic women<\/span> will also be identified and will be referred to health centers in serious cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Need to launch the campaign: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>According to NFHS-4 data, Jharkhand has some worrying level of malnutrition. The NFHS-4 data reveals the following trends.<\/li>\n<li>Every second child in the state is stunted and underweight<\/li>\n<li>Every third child is affected by stunting<\/li>\n<li>Every 10th child is affected by severe wasting<\/li>\n<li>Apart from that, around 70% of children are anaemic in the state.<\/li>\n<li>Hence, the intervention was required with a \u2018different approach to reduce malnutrition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Jharkhand government has launched the SAAMAR campaign to tackle malnutrition in the state.
