The agreement aims to bring tap water connections to 11 water-scarce districts in Uttar Pradesh under the Jal Jeevan mission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Jal Jeevan Mission: <\/strong>Jal Jeevan Mission, is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> individual household tap connections by 2024<\/span> to all households in rural India.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aim: <\/strong>It aims to provide every rural household with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">functional household tap connections (FHTCs)<\/span> with adequate quantity and of prescribed quality of water on a regular and long-term basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Implementation: <\/strong>It is being implemented by the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation<\/span> under the Jal Shakti Ministry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mission implements source sustainability measures as mandatory elements, such as recharge and reuses through greywater management, water conservation, rainwater harvesting.<\/li>\n<li>The mission is based on a community approach to water and will include extensive Information, Education and communication as a key component of the mission.<\/li>\n<li>Water quality testing is one of the priority areas under the mission.
