It was ranked at 48th in 2020 and <span style=\"font-family: var(--list--font-family); background-color: var(--global--color-background); color: var(--global--color-primary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">81 in 2015.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: var(--list--font-family); background-color: var(--global--color-background); color: var(--global--color-primary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">Graduates in science and engineering disciplines and global corporate research and development investors are India\u2019s strengths.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>India ranks 2nd among the 34 lower middle-income group economies.<\/li>\n<li>India ranks 1st among the 10 economies in Central and Southern Asia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other findings:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Switzerland has topped the index. It was followed by Sweden, the US and the UK.<\/li>\n<li>Among Asian economies, South Korea jumped to the fifth position, up from 10 last year.
