{"id":155353,"date":"2021-12-21T21:43:24","date_gmt":"2021-12-21T16:13:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?page_id=155353"},"modified":"2021-12-21T21:43:24","modified_gmt":"2021-12-21T16:13:24","slug":"employees-provident-fund-organization-epfo","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/employees-provident-fund-organization-epfo\/","title":{"rendered":"Employees\u2019 Provident Fund Organization (EPFO)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>About EPFO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a<strong> statutory body<\/strong> formed under the Employees\u2019 Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.\n<ul>\n<li>The Schemes framed there under the act are administered by a<strong> tri-partite Board<\/strong> known as the <strong>Central Board of Trustees<\/strong>, consisting of representatives of Government (Both Central and State), Employers, and Employees.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Board is assisted by<\/strong> <strong>the EPFO<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It is administered by the <strong>Ministry of Labour &amp; Employment<\/strong>, Government of India.<\/li>\n<li>It is one of the world\u2019s largest organizations in terms of clientele and the volume of financial transactions undertaken by it.<\/li>\n<li>The Central Board through the EPFO operates three schemes viz. :-\n<ol>\n<li>The Employees&#8217;<strong> Provident Funds Schem<\/strong>e 1952 (EPF).<\/li>\n<li>The Employees&#8217; <strong>Pension Scheme<\/strong> 1995 (EPS).<\/li>\n<li>The Employees&#8217; <strong>Deposit Linked Insurance<\/strong> Scheme 1976 (EDLI).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>EPF i Grievance Management System<\/strong>(EPFiGMS) is a customised portal of EPFO with an aim to redress grievances for the services provided by EPFO.\n<ul>\n<li>Grievances can be lodged at any place and will land in concerned office to which the grievances pertain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It also manages <strong>social security agreements with other countries<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>International workers are covered under EPFO plans in countries where bilateral agreements have been signed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Government of India launched a <strong>Universal Account Number<\/strong> for Employees covered by EPFO to enable Provident Fund number portability.\n<ul>\n<li>A 12-digit number allotted to employees who are contributing to EPF, generated for each of the PF members by EPFO.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About EPFO: It is a statutory body formed under the Employees\u2019 Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.
