{"id":18078,"date":"2018-04-02T14:20:36","date_gmt":"2018-04-02T08:50:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?page_id=18078"},"modified":"2018-04-02T14:20:36","modified_gmt":"2018-04-02T08:50:36","slug":"ayushman-bharat-programme","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ayushman-bharat-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Ayushman Bharat programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>The Ayushman Bharat programme addresses health\u00a0<strong>holistically, in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It covers both\u00a0<strong>prevention and health promotion.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Two flagship programmes under Ayushman Bharat programme are\u00a0<strong>Health and Wellness Centre and National\u00a0Health Protection Scheme<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Health and Wellness Centre:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The National Health Policy, 2017 has envisioned Health and Wellness Centres as the foundation of India\u2019s health system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under this 1.5 lakh health care centres will be established.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Budget:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Budget has allocated Rs.1200 crore for this flagship programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key features of Health and Wellness Centre:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comprehensive health care:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These centres will provide comprehensive health care, including for non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Free health services:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These centres will also provide free essential drugs and diagnostic services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Contribution of private sector:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribution of\u00a0<strong>private sector through CSR and philanthropic institutions<\/strong>\u00a0in adopting these centres is also envisaged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>National\u00a0Health Protection Scheme:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The second flagship programme under Ayushman Bharat is\u00a0National Health Protection Scheme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It will cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) providing coverage upto 5 lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Budget:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The government has not yet made any allocations for the scheme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key features\u00a0National\u00a0Health Protection Scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>World\u2019s largest government funded health programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This will be the world\u2019s largest government funded health care programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Awareness of health insurance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The scheme would create tremendous awareness of health insurance, the same way Jan Dhan did for bank accounts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Enhance productivity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It will also ensure enhanced productivity, well being and avert wage loss and impoverishment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Generate jobs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thes scheme will also generate lakhs of jobs, particularly for women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Goal of Universal Health Coverage:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Government is steadily but surely progressing towards the goal of Universal Health Coverage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Higher life expectancy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A higher health insurance cover means a higher life expectancy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ayushman Bharat programme addresses health\u00a0holistically, in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems.
