In the first phase, it will provide support to explore new ideas and pathways. With the government\u2019s support, these ideas will then be used to develop use cases, intellectual properties (IPs) and testbeds. In the second phase, these IPs, prototypes and testbeds will be commercialized.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Rationale behind the early approach towards 6G:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Assuming Leadership:<\/strong>The government wants to increase India\u2019s dominance in wireless data usage and it will be done through encouraging local manufacturing of telecom, supporting Indian companies and engineers in international discussions around standardization.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Avoiding Delays:<\/strong>The government doesn\u2019t want to delay or stay behind the other countries in rolling out 6G as it did in 5G.\u00a0<strong>For instance,<\/strong>\u00a05G came in India years after countries like South Korea and the United States started using it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Addressing the Demand:<\/strong> with the advent of 5G and 6G technologies, lower frequencies in 4G networks may not be able to match the demand for traffic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Developing R&amp;D:<\/strong>The government wants to support research in the field of 6G technologies. It will be done through\u00a0<strong>leveraging talent in academia and companies. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Achieve connectivity goals<\/strong>: 6G technology will help the government in achieving connectivity goals. <strong>For instance,<\/strong>ensuring that\u00a0<strong>every person has access to a minimum of 100 Mbps of<\/strong>\u00a0broadband, giving every\u00a0<strong>gram panchayat access to half a terabit<\/strong>\u00a0per second of connectivity, and\u00a0<strong>installing over 50 million internet devices across the nation<\/strong>\u201413 per square kilometer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>6G will make websites load faster, videos to look better, and files to download faster than the 5G technology.<\/strong>\u00a0However, businesses and governments are still figuring out how to best use 5G technology.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction: Explain India\u2019s 6G vision.
