India followed suit: <strong>right to Repair Framework (2022)<\/strong> by Department of Consumer Affairs, <strong>National Portal (2023)<\/strong> covering electronics, farm equipment, and automobiles and <strong>repairability Index (2025)<\/strong> proposed for mobile and white goods.<\/li>\n<li>However, these efforts remain limited without systemic integration into digital governance, education, and skill policy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>The Value of Frugal and Tacit Innovation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>India\u2019s repair culture is deeply embedded in <strong>jugaad<\/strong> \u2014 improvisation and reuse. Provide <strong>micro-certifications<\/strong> that value diagnostic intuition, not just manual precision. Encourage platforms like <strong>Mangrove Mitras<\/strong>-like \u201cRepair Mitras\u201d for citizen engagement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leveraging AI and DPI for Repair Justice: <\/strong>Use <strong>Large Language Models (LLMs)<\/strong> to document repair narratives. Align with <strong>Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)<\/strong> efforts by integrating repair services into platforms like <strong>UMANG<\/strong> or <strong>MyGov.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Enabling Economic and Environmental Equity: <\/strong>Recognise repairers as <strong>green workers<\/strong> under <strong>Mission LiFE. <\/strong>Link repair to climate action, circular economy, and green job creation. Promote urban circular hubs and localised maker labs for repair and reuse.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Way Forward<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sustainability must not be top-down but co-created with grassroots actors. Formal R&amp;D and informal creativity must coexist.
