AI holds great promise for improving the delivery of health services in resource-poor settings.   1. Diagnostics and screening<\/strong>: Artificial Intelligence can help in identifying\nor predicting diseases based on expressed symptoms. It will not only reduce\ndiagnostic errors but will diagnose precisely based on patient\u2019s history.<\/li>
  2. Health worker performance and productivity<\/strong>: Artificial Intelligence will track the data\ncaptured by health workers, and use it to direct their efforts where they are\nmost needed. This will enhance their efficiency and productivity. It will also\nreduce workload.<\/li>
  3. Improving client adherence<\/strong>: Artificial Intelligence will help in identifying\npatterns and gaps in people\u2019s health-seeking behaviour and will suggest who\nmight drop out of a health programme or course of treatment. This will improve\npublic health and will reduce unnecessary expenditure.<\/li>
  4. Health informatics<\/strong>: Health informatics describes the acquisition,\nstorage, retrieval and use of healthcare information to improve patient care\nacross interactions with the health system. Health informatics can help shape\npublic health programmes by ensuring that critical information is available for\nmaking sound policies and programme decisions. <\/li>
  5. Electronic medical records (EMRs)<\/strong>: EMRs, which are digital versions of patient and\npopulation health information, are an important source of data for health\ninformatics. Their use has become much more prevalent in low-resource settings,\nwhich in an era of networked computers, \nhas expanded potential applications of AI to improve public health\ninformatics and decision making. <\/li>

Mobile phones have been used by\ncommunity health workers (CHWs) to improve the provision of health services\nwithin resource-poor settings. Mobile phones have also been used to communicate\nhealth information to patients in resource-poor settings when face-to-face interactions\nare not feasible. The use of short message service to address demand-side\nbarriers to vaccination and improve immunisation coverage has been thoroughly\ndocumented through randomised controlled trials in settings.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    In India where public health system is not robust and millions live under poverty, Artificial Intelligence can ensure accessibility to public health. Rural areas where doctors are less can be reached using technology and artificial intelligence.
