The Fundamental\nDuties are defined as the moral obligations of all citizens to help promote a\nspirit of patriotism and to uphold the unity of India. On the other hand legal\nduties are the obligation arising from operation of law, a breach of which\nwould constitute illegal act. Both are important and play a significant role in\na country’s peace and progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  5. Source of inspiration:<\/strong> They serve as a source of inspiration for the\ncitizens and promote a sense of discipline and commitment among them. They\ncreate a feeling that the citizens are not mere spectators but active\nparticipants in the realisation of national goals. <\/li>
  6. Establish constitutional validity:<\/strong> They help the courts in examining and\ndetermining the constitutional validity of a law. In 1992, the Supreme Court\nruled that in determining the constitutionality of any law, if a court finds\nthat the law in question seeks to give effect to a fundamental duty, it may\nconsider such law to be \u2018reasonable\u2019. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
