\nKannada Language: phonological and Semantic changes. Language borrowing.
\nB. History of Kannada Literature<\/strong>
\nAncient Kannada literature : Influence and Trends, Poets for study : Specified poets from Pampa to
\nRatnakara Varni are to be studied in the light of contents, form and expression : Pampa, Janna,
\nNagachandra.
\nMedieval Kannada literature : Influence and Trends.
\nVachana Literature : Basavanna, Akka Mahadevi.
\nMedieval Poets : Harihara, Raghavanka, Kumara-Vyasa.
\nDasa literature : Purandara and Kanaka.
\nSangataya : Ratnakarvarni

\nMarxist, Feminist, Post-colonial criticism.
\nB. Cultural History of Karnataka<\/strong>
\nContribution of Dynasties to the culture of Karnataka: Chalukyas of Badami and Kalyani,
\nRashtrakutas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagara rulers, in literary context.
\nMajor religions of Karnataka and their cultural contribution.
\nArts of Karnataka ; Sculpture, Architecture, Painting, Music, Dance\u2014in the literary context.
