{"id":97066,"date":"2021-03-22T15:05:37","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T09:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?page_id=97066"},"modified":"2023-10-27T15:26:40","modified_gmt":"2023-10-27T09:56:40","slug":"konkani","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/upsc-syllabus\/konkani\/","title":{"rendered":"Konkani Literature Optional UPSC Syllabus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Konkani Optional-Syllabus\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">PAPER -I<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>(Answers must be written in Konkani)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Section A<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>History of the Konkani Language :<\/strong><br \/>\n(i) Origin and development of the language and influences on it.<br \/>\n(ii) Major variants of Konkani and their linguistic features.<br \/>\n(iii) Grammatical and lexicographic work in Konkani, including a study of cases, adverbs,<br \/>\nindeclinables and voices.<br \/>\n(iv) Old Standard Konkani, New Standard and Standardisation problems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Section B<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>History of Konkani Literature<\/strong><br \/>\nCandidates would be expected to be well-acquainted with Konkani literature and its social and<br \/>\ncultural background and consider the problems and issues arising out of them.<br \/>\n(i) History of Konkani literature from its probable source to the present times, with<br \/>\nemphasis on its major works, writers and movements.<br \/>\n(ii) Social and cultural background of the making of Konkani literature from time to time.<br \/>\n(iii) Indian and Western influences on Konkani literature, from the earliest to modern times.<br \/>\n(iv) Modern literary trends in the various genres and regions including a study of Konkani<br \/>\nfolklore.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">PAPER-II<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>(Answers must be written in Konkani)<\/strong><br \/>\nTextual Criticism of Konkani Literature<br \/>\nThe paper will be designed to test the candidate\u2019s critical and analytical abilities. Candidates<br \/>\nwould be expected to be well-acquainted with Konkani Literature and required to have first-hand<br \/>\nreading of the following texts :<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Section A\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prose<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1.
