\nLanguages.<\/strong>
\n2. Fundamentals of Nepali Grammar and phonology :<\/strong>
\n(i) Nominal forms and categories :\u2014
\nGender, Number, Case, Adjectives, Pronouns, Avyayas
\n(ii) Verbal forms and categories :\u2014
\nTense, Aspects, Voice, Roots and Fixes
\n(iii) Nepali Swara and Vyanjana;
\n3. Major Dialects of Nepali<\/strong>
\n4. Standardisation and Modernisation of Nepali with special reference to language
\nmovements (viz. Halanta Bahiskar, Jharrovad etc.)
\n5. Teaching of Nepali language in India\u2014Its history and development with special reference
\nto its socio-cultural aspects.<\/p>\n

Section B<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. History of Nepali literature with special reference to its development in India.<\/strong>
\n2. Fundamental concepts and theories of Literature :<\/strong>
\nKavya\/Sahitya, Kavya Prayojan, Literary genres, Shabda Shakti, Rasa, Alankara, Tragedy,
\nComedy, Aesthetics, Stylistics.
\n3. Major literary trends and movements\u2014
\nSwachchhandatavad, Yatharthavad, Astitwavad, Ayamik Movement Contemporary
\nNepali writings, Postmodernism.
\n4. Nepali folklores (the following folk-form only)\u2014Sawai, Jhyaurey, Selo, Sangini, Lahari.<\/p>\n

PAPER-II<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Answers must be written in Nepali)<\/strong>
\nThis paper will require first hand reading of the texts prescribed below and questions will be
\ndesigned to test the candidate’s critical acumen.<\/p>\n
