History of Odia Language
\n<\/strong>(i) Origin and development of Odia Language\u2014Influence of Austric, Dravidian, Perso\u2014
\nArabic and English on Odia Language.
\n(ii) Phonetics and Phonemics : Vowels, Consonants Principles of changes in Odia sounds.
\n(iii) Morphology : Morphemes (free, bound compound and complex), derivational and
\ninflectional affixes, case inflection, conjugation of verb.
\n(iv) Syntax : Kinds of sentences and their trans-formation, structure of sentences.
\n(v) Semantics\u2014Different types of change in meaning. Euphemism.
\n(vi) Common errors in spellings, grammatical uses and construction of sentences.
\n(vii) Regional variations in Odia Language (Western, Southern and Northern Odia) and
\nDialects (Bhatri and Desia).<\/p>\n

Section B<\/strong><\/p>\n

History of Odia Literature<\/strong>
\n(i) Historical backgrounds (social, cultural and political) of Odia Literature of different
\nperiods.
\n(ii) Ancient epics, ornate kavyas and padavalis.
\n(iii) Typical structural forms of Odia Literature (Koili, Chautisa, Poi, Chaupadi, Champu).
\n(iv) Modern trends in poetry, drama short story, novel essay and literary criticism.<\/p>\n

\nCritical Study of texts\u2014
\nThe paper will require first hand reading of the text and test the critical ability of the candidate.<\/p>\n
