(a) Genres and their development :<\/strong>
\n(i) Poetry: Ghazal, Masnavi, Qasida, Marsia, Rubai Jadid Nazm.
\n(ii) Prose : Novel, Short Story, Dastan, Drama, Inshaiya, Khutoot, Biography.
\n(b) Significant feaures of : (i) Deccani, Delhi and Lucknow schools, (ii) Sir Syed movement,
\nRomantic movement, Progressive movement, Modernism.
\n(c) Literary Criticism and its development with reference to Hali, Shibli, Kaleemuddin Ahmad,
\nEhtisham Hussain, Ale-Ahmad Suroor.
\n(d) Essay writing (covering literary and imaginativetopics).<\/p>\n
