{"id":100959,"date":"2021-04-10T17:51:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-10T12:21:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=100959"},"modified":"2021-04-10T21:33:00","modified_gmt":"2021-04-10T16:03:00","slug":"government-launches-madhukranti-portal-and-honey-corners-of-nafed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/government-launches-madhukranti-portal-and-honey-corners-of-nafed\/","title":{"rendered":"Government launches &#8220;Madhukranti portal&#8221; and &#8220;Honey Corners&#8221; of NAFED"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Union Agriculture Minister has launched the &#8220;MadhuKranti portal&#8221; and &#8220;Honey Corners&#8221; of NAFED.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About MadhuKranti portal:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Madhukranti portal <\/strong>is an initiative of the National Bee Board under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purpose: <\/strong>The purpose is to develop an online registration to achieve a traceability source of Honey and other beehive products on a digital platform.<\/li>\n<li>The portal will enable the consumers\/public to know about the source of honey and assure the quality of the products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About National Beekeeping &amp; Honey Mission(NBHM):\u201d<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Beekeeping &amp; Honey Mission(NBHM) <\/strong>was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare as part of the AtmaNirbhar Bharat scheme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>The aim is to promote &amp; develop scientific beekeeping in the country to achieve the goal of \u2018Sweet Revolution\u2019.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation<\/strong>: The National Bee Board (NBB) will implement the mission. Further, it is a Central Sector Scheme and is 100% funded by the Central Govt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About Honey Corners:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Honey Corners: <\/strong>They are special spaces for the sale of honey. The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) operates it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance: <\/strong>NAFED has developed 14-15 honey corners. NAFED will also develop more honey corners in future. This will promote market support for honey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About NAFED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation(NAFED) <\/strong>is an apex organization of marketing cooperatives for agricultural produce in India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Founded in: <\/strong>It was founded in 1958. It is registered under the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Firstly, to organize, promote and develop marketing, processing and storage of agricultural, horticultural and forest produce.<\/li>\n<li>Secondly, to distribute agricultural machinery and other inputs, undertake inter-state, import and export trade, wholesale or retail as the case may be.<\/li>\n<li>And lastly, to act and assist with technical advice in agricultural production for the promotion and the working of its members, partners, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Programmes:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>NAFED is the nodal agency to implement price stabilization measures under &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/extension-of-operation-greens-from-top-to-total\/\">Operation Greens&#8221;.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>NAFED along with the Food Corporation of India(FCI) physically procures oilseeds, pulses and copra under the Price Support Scheme(PSS).
