They are endemic to the Nilgiri Hills and the southern portion of the Western Ghats in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.<\/li><li><strong>Conservation Status: <\/strong><ul><li>Listed as Endangered in IUCN Red List<\/li><li>Listed under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional\nInformation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mukurthi National\nPark<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Location<\/strong>: It is located in the Tamil Nadu.<\/li><li><strong>Forest type:<\/strong> Montane grasslands and shrublands interspersed\n with sholas<\/li><li><strong>Fauna:<\/strong> Nilgiri tahr, Indian elephant, Bengal tiger, Nilgiri\n marten, Nilgiri langur<\/li><li>It is a part of the\n Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve- the first biosphere reserve in India\n established in the year 1986.
