{"id":10218,"date":"2019-09-18T15:40:49","date_gmt":"2019-09-18T10:10:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=10218"},"modified":"2019-09-18T15:40:49","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T10:10:49","slug":"national-antimicrobial-resistance-hubkolkata","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/national-antimicrobial-resistance-hubkolkata\/","title":{"rendered":"National Antimicrobial resistance Hub,Kolkata"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) has inaugurated India\u2019s first National Antimicrobial Resistance Hub in Kolkata.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Hub:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The National Antimicrobial Resistance Hub has been developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) in association with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.<\/li><li>The hub will aim to identify antibiotics that work best for diseases and frame a policy for antibiotic use that will prevent resistance.&nbsp;<\/li><li>It will also carry out basic research and have a repository of viral strains that are being collected from all over the country.<\/li><li>The Kolkata centre would also be the hub for research on antibiotic resistance, not only for the country but for the entire South Asia.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional information:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About antimicrobial resistance:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Antimicrobial resistance is the ability of a microorganism like bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites to stop an antimicrobial such as antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals and antimalarial from working against it.<\/li><li>The World Health Organization(WHO) recognises AMR as a serious threat to global public health.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About ICMR:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR),New Delhi is the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research.&nbsp;<\/li><li>It is funded by the Government of India through the Department of Health Research,Ministry of Health &amp; Family Welfare.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:The Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) has inaugurated India\u2019s first National Antimicrobial Resistance Hub in Kolkata.
