Also, the internet should be able to enable<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> positive social and economic outcomes at the individual and group levels<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Countries Covered: <\/strong>The index assesses the performance of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">120 countries<\/span> representing 98% of global GDP and 96% of the global population.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Categories: <\/strong>The Index score is based on the scores of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">4 categories;<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Availability<\/strong>: It examines the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">quality and breadth of available infrastructure<\/span> required for access and levels of Internet usage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Affordability<\/strong>: It examines the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cost of access<\/span> relative to income and the level of competition in the Internet marketplace.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relevance<\/strong>: It also examines the existence and extent of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">local language content<\/span> and relevant content.<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Readiness<\/strong>: Furthermore, it examines the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">capacity to access the Internet.<\/span> It includes skills (literacy), cultural acceptance, and supporting policy. Literacy measures the level of education and preparedness to use the Internet<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Key Findings Related to India:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>India\u2019s Rank<\/strong>: 49th out of 120 countries in the Index.<\/li>\n<li><strong>India <\/strong>is set to reach <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one billion internet users<\/span> by 2025.
