This decision is important due to the increase in<a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/the-issue-of-medical-oxygen-in-india\/\"> demand for Liquid Oxygen<\/a> from major hospitals across the country.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Oxygen Express:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<div class=\"content-box-green\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Oxygen Express <\/strong>is a special train transporting liquid <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/india-to-import-medical-oxygen-to-cater-demand\/\">medical oxygen<\/a> to states and Union Territories in cryogenic tankers.<\/li>\n<li>It was started to meet the high demand for liquid Medical oxygen gas for the treatment of coronavirus patients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h5><strong>Why Transport of Liquid Oxygen through train?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Transportation of oxygen through trains is faster over long distances than road transport.<\/li>\n<li>Transportation through rail takes 2 days. On the other hand, transportation through the road takes 3 days.<\/li>\n<li>Further, trains can run 24 hours a day but truck drivers need to take halts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Challenges:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Oxygen <\/strong>in a cryogenic state is a hazardous chemical.
