{"id":10370,"date":"2019-09-24T17:46:37","date_gmt":"2019-09-24T12:16:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=10370"},"modified":"2019-09-24T17:46:37","modified_gmt":"2019-09-24T12:16:37","slug":"united-nations-climate-action-summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/united-nations-climate-action-summit\/","title":{"rendered":"United Nations Climate Action Summit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>During the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the Indian Prime Minister has addressed the United Nations(UN) Climate Action Summit.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Highlights of the speech:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Prime minister has reiterated India\u2019s commitment to the creation of 175 GW renewable energy capacity by 2022 under the Paris Climate Agreement.&nbsp;<\/li><li>He also said that India\u2019s renewable energy target will be further increased to 450 GW by 2022.<\/li><li>He said that India would spend approximately $50 billion in the next few years on the Jal Jeevan Mission to conserve water, harvest rainwater and develop water resources.<\/li><li>He also said that more than 80 countries have joined the International Solar Alliance initiated by India.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New initiatives:<\/strong>The Prime Minister has also announced two new international initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Leadership Group for Industry Transition<\/strong>: India and Sweden together with other countries have announced this initiative that will drive transformation in hard-to-decarbonize and energy-intensive sectors.<\/li><li><strong>Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure(CDRI): <\/strong>It<strong> <\/strong>will be an international partnership that will support countries- developed and developing- to build climate and disaster resilient infrastructure.\u00a0<\/li><li>The Coalition\u2019s secretariat will be based in Delhi.It will facilitate knowledge exchange, provide technical support and support capacity building.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:During the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the Indian Prime Minister has addressed the United Nations(UN) Climate Action Summit.
