{"id":10730,"date":"2019-10-06T16:33:05","date_gmt":"2019-10-06T11:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=10730"},"modified":"2019-10-06T16:33:05","modified_gmt":"2019-10-06T11:03:05","slug":"green-crackers-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/green-crackers-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Green Crackers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Government of India has launched green firecrackers in a bid to resolve the crisis of air pollution.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Background:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In October 2018,the Supreme Court had banned the manufacture, sale and use of firecrackers that are loud and toxic to man, animal and the environment.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The court had allowed for sale of green and improved crackers through licensed traders.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are Green Crackers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Green crackers are so named because they do not contain harmful chemicals that would cause air pollution.<\/li><li>In green crackers the commonly used polluting chemicals like aluminium, barium, potassium nitrate and carbon have either been removed or sharply reduced to slow down the emissions by 15 to 30%.<\/li><li>Scientists at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has developed less polluting green firecrackers named as (a) Safe Water Releaser(SWAS) (b) Safe Thermite Cracker(STAR) and (c) Safe Minimal Aluminium(SAFAL).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional information:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About CSIR:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR) is an autonomous research and development body established by the Government of India in 1942.<\/li><li>It covers a wide spectrum of science and technology \u2013from radio, oceanography, geophysics, chemicals, drugs, genomics, biotechnology and nanotechnology among others.<\/li><li>It provides significant technological intervention in many areas with regard to societal efforts which include environment, health, drinking water, food, housing, energy, farm and non-farm sectors.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:Government of India has launched green firecrackers in a bid to resolve the crisis of air pollution.
