{"id":10754,"date":"2019-10-08T17:47:59","date_gmt":"2019-10-08T12:17:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=10754"},"modified":"2019-10-08T17:47:59","modified_gmt":"2019-10-08T12:17:59","slug":"bharat-stage-sixbs-vi-norms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/bharat-stage-sixbs-vi-norms\/","title":{"rendered":"Bharat Stage Six(BS VI) norms"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>Minister for the Environment has said that the country will shift to Bharat Stage Six (BS-VI) vehicular emission norms from BS-IV by April 2020.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Bharat Stage norms:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bharat Stage(BS) are emission standards instituted by the Government of India based on European regulations.<\/li><li>The objective is to regulate the output of air pollutants from internal combustion engine equipment.The higher the fuel standard a vehicle complies with,the less polluting it is.<\/li><li>The standards and the timeline for implementation are set by the Central Pollution Control Board under the Ministry of Environment &amp; Forests and Climate Change.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Implementation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In order to curb the growing menace of air pollution through the vehicles emission,the Government of India has decided to move from the existing BS \u2013 IV norms directly to the BS- VI with effect from 1st April 2020.<\/li><li>The main difference between BS-IV and BS-VI (Which is comparable to Euro 6) is in the amount of sulphur in the fuel.<\/li><li>BS-VI fuel is estimated to bring around an 80% reduction in sulphur content \u2013from 50 parts per million (ppm) to 10 ppm.<\/li><li>The Nitrogen Oxide(NOx) emissions from diesel cars are also expected to come down by nearly 70% and from cars with petrol engines by 25% after the implementation of BS-VI fuel.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:Minister for the Environment has said that the country will shift to Bharat Stage Six (BS-VI) vehicular emission norms from BS-IV by April 2020.
