{"id":108100,"date":"2021-05-21T18:39:47","date_gmt":"2021-05-21T13:09:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=108100"},"modified":"2021-05-26T12:34:34","modified_gmt":"2021-05-26T07:04:34","slug":"government-launches-cbid-program-on-rehabilitation-of-divyangjan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/government-launches-cbid-program-on-rehabilitation-of-divyangjan\/","title":{"rendered":"Government launches &#8220;CBID Program&#8221; on Rehabilitation of Divyangjan"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><\/h5>\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Union Minister of Social Justice &amp; Empowerment has virtually launched a 6-month CBID (Community Based Inclusive Development) Program on rehabilitation of Divyangjan(Persons with Disabilities).<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About CBID (Community Based Inclusive Development) programme:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Firstly, <\/strong>the programme has been <strong>co-designed by<\/strong> the Rehabilitation Council of India and the University of Melbourne.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondly, <\/strong>the programme <strong>aims<\/strong> to create a pool of Grassroot rehabilitation workers at the community level. These workers will be trained for successfully discharging their duties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thirdly, after training, <\/strong>the workers can then work alongside the ASHA and Anganwadi workers. They can handle cross-disability issues and facilitate the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society. The workers will be called &#8216;Divyang Mitra&#8217; i.e. friends of persons with disabilities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fourthly, Nodal Body:<\/strong> National Board of Examination in Rehabilitation under the Rehabilitation Council of India will conduct examinations. The board will also award certificates to pass-out candidates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>About Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI):<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>RCI was initially <\/strong>set up as a registered society in 1986. In 1992, the Rehabilitation Council of India Act was enacted by Parliament, and it became a Statutory Body in 1993.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mandate:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>To develop, standardize and regulate training programmes\/ courses at various levels in the field of Rehabilitation and Special Education.<\/li>\n<li>To maintain the Central Rehabilitation Register for qualified Professionals\/ Personnel and promote Research in Special Education.<\/li>\n<li>It will also take punitive action against unqualified persons delivering services to persons with disability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1719914\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
