(ICGS- Indian Coast Guard ship)<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About ICGS Sajag:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Firstly, Goa Shipyard Limited <\/strong>has indigenously designed and built the Indian Coast Guard Ship Vessel \u201cSajag\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondly, Purpose: <\/strong>The ship is fitted with advanced technology equipment, weapons and sensors. It is also capable of carrying a twin-engine helicopter and four high-speed boats.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thirdly, Significance<\/strong>: The ICGS Sajag is the third in a series of five offshore patrol vessels under <strong>Samarth Class<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About Offshore Patrol Vehicles(OPVs):<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Offshore Patrol Vehicles(OPVs) <\/strong>are long-range surface ships. They are capable of operation in maritime zones of India including island territories with helicopter operation capabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About Indian Coast Guard(ICG):<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Firstly, the Indian Coast Guard<\/strong> was formally established through an Act of Parliament in 1978. It operates under the Ministry of Defence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondly, Purpose: <\/strong>It is the maritime law enforcement and search and rescue agency of India. They have jurisdiction over territorial waters including its contiguous zone and exclusive economic zone.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thirdly, Origin: <\/strong>The concept of forming the Coast Guard was conceived after the 1971 war.
