Earlier, the scheme was successfully implemented in a number of urban households in Kerala.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About Bell of Faith Scheme:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Firstly, Bell of Faith Scheme<\/strong> was launched by the Kerala Police in 2018. It aims to provide security to senior citizens staying alone as part of Kerala\u2019s Community Policing Scheme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondly, under the Scheme,<\/strong> police have installed a bell in the senior citizens&#8217; houses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thirdly, the neighbour <\/strong>will get an alert with an alarm when the senior citizen rings the bell during an emergency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fourthly, the neighbour can immediately<\/strong> rush to the house or contact the police or hospital.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Significance of the Scheme:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Bell of Faith scheme <\/strong>sets an example for community participation to ensure the well-being and safety of the elderly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Moreover, <\/strong>this scheme can be of great support for the senior citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic as many live in fear for their health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/todays-paper\/tp-national\/tp-andhrapradesh\/keralas-bell-of-faith-for-rural-elders\/article34685031.ece\"><strong>The Hindu<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
