Further, they are chosen with or without a past history of Covid-19 infection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Read Also :<\/span><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/approval-to-covaxin-and-covishield-vaccines-concerns-and-way-forward\/\">-India approves COVID-19 vaccines Covishield<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Key Findings regarding the effectiveness of vaccines:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Higher Seropositivity: <\/strong>Among the 515 healthcare workers, 95% showed seropositivity <em>(higher antibodies)<\/em> after two doses of both vaccines.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Seropositivity<\/strong>: It refers to the presence of specific antibodies in an individual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Higher Antibodies: <\/strong>Covishield vaccine has produced more antibodies than the Covaxin doses.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Antibody<\/strong>: It is a protein produced by the body\u2019s immune system when it detects harmful substances called antigens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Breakthrough infections: <\/strong>A total of 27 breakthrough infections (4.9%) were recorded among the respondents. However, there were relatively fewer instances of \u2018breakthrough infections\u2019 after taking Covaxin than Covishield.\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/what-is-breakthrough-infection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breakthrough infection<\/a>: <\/strong>It is a case of illness in which a vaccinated individual becomes sick from the same disease for which the vaccine was administered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Side Effects: <\/strong>There were mild to moderate adverse events associated with both the vaccines, but there were no serious side effects observed during the study.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/epaper.thehindu.com\/Home\/MShareArticle?OrgId=GVD8L7ECK.1&amp;imageview=0\"><strong>The Hindu<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the news?
