{"id":11107,"date":"2019-10-22T17:15:24","date_gmt":"2019-10-22T11:45:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/factly.forumias.com\/?p=11107"},"modified":"2021-04-24T11:30:13","modified_gmt":"2021-04-24T06:00:13","slug":"national-tiger-conservation-authorityntca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/national-tiger-conservation-authorityntca\/","title":{"rendered":"National Tiger Conservation Authority(NTCA)"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong>The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has red-flagged the Madhya Pradesh government&#8217;s move to increase tourism activities inside the state&#8217;s tiger reserves.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>About NTCA:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>The National Tiger Conservation Authority is a statutory body under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change constituted under enabling provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Objectives of NTCA:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Providing statutory authority to Project Tiger so that compliance of its directives become legal.<\/li>\r\n<li>Fostering accountability of Center-State in the management of Tiger Reserves by providing a basis for MoU with States within our federal structure.<\/li>\r\n<li>Providing for an oversight by Parliament.<\/li>\r\n<li>Addressing livelihood interests of local people in areas surrounding Tiger Reserves.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Powers and Functions of NTCA:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>To approve the tiger conservation plan prepared by the State Government.<\/li>\r\n<li>To evaluate and assess various aspects of sustainable ecology and disallow any ecologically unsustainable land use such as, mining, industry and other projects within the tiger reserves;<\/li>\r\n<li>To provide for management focus and measures for addressing conflicts of\u00a0 man and wild animals\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>To provide information on protection measures including future conservation plan, estimation of population of tiger among others among others.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has red-flagged the Madhya Pradesh government&#8217;s move to increase tourism activities inside the state&#8217;s tiger reserves.
