Suggestions and objections have been invited from the public.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About Draft Master Plan for Delhi-2041:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Draft Master Plan for Delhi <\/strong>has been prepared by Delhi Development Authority(DDA) in partnership with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA).\n<ul>\n<li>NIUA is India\u2019s leading national think tank on <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/urban-planning\/\">urban planning<\/a> and development. In 1976, NIUA was appointed as an <strong>apex body<\/strong> to support and guide the Government of India in its urban development plans.<\/li>\n<li>Since then, it has worked closely with the <strong>Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs<\/strong>, alongside other government and civil sectors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective: <\/strong>The plan has been prepared as a set of guidelines meant to be used in the policies for housing, construction, transport and environment over the next 20 years in Delhi.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vision: <\/strong>The vision for the plan is to \u201cFoster a Sustainable, Liveable and Vibrant Delhi by 2041\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>First Master Plan: <\/strong>The first master plan for Delhi was promulgated in 1962 under the Delhi Development Act of 1957. It was followed by the master plans of 2001 and 2021.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Key Focus Areas of the Draft Master Plan for Delhi-2041:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Environment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Green Development Area (GDA) <\/strong>to be set up for incentivizing large-scale implementation of green economies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The polluting industries <\/strong>will not be permitted to operate within Delhi. The list of polluting industries will be periodically updated by the Delhi government and DDA.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhancement of a \u201cGreen-Blue Infrastructure (GBI)\u201d <\/strong>by taking into account the Aravali ridge, the Yamuna, forests, wetlands, parks and other assets.\n<ul>\n<li>GBI is an interconnected network of natural and designed landscape components, including water bodies and green and open spaces.<\/li>\n<li><em>Blue<\/em>\u00a0<em>infrastructure <\/em>refers to\u00a0<em>infrastructure<\/em> related to hydrological functions. This includes rainwater and urban stormwater systems as well as surface water<\/li>\n<li><em>Green infrastructure<\/em> refers to green spaces like parks, natural vegetation like trees etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dust management plan <\/strong>at construction sites<\/li>\n<li><strong>Creation of a tree directory<\/strong> in order to preserve count the number of trees<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promoting <\/strong>clean economic activities and minimized vehicular pollution by creating multimodal hubs and encouraging green mobility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Read Also :-<a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/the-constitutional-status-of-article-35a\/\">The Constitutional status of Article 35A<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Economy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Promoting the concept <\/strong>of \u201824-hour city\u2019 by fostering a night-time economy<\/li>\n<li><strong>No new mixed-use streets: <\/strong>This means no commercial streets will be declared in residential areas<\/li>\n<li><strong>New industrial areas <\/strong>to be developed as a hub of the clean economy (tech and cyber parks etc)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Multi-use community <\/strong>work centres or co-working spaces to be developed<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development of business promotion districts <\/strong>in industrial areas<\/li>\n<li><strong>Providing infrastructure<\/strong> for the informal sector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Transport:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Introduction of congestion pricing <\/strong>and dynamic parking charges<\/li>\n<li><strong>Restriction<\/strong> of on-street parking<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development<\/strong> of e-vehicles infrastructure<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development<\/strong> of \u2018cycling highways and enhancing walkability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Housing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Promotion of rental housing<\/strong> (permission to develop it in industrial areas, etc)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Online portal <\/strong>for rental housing scheme<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development of large-scale housing <\/strong>using land-pooling<\/li>\n<li><strong>Redevelopment of <\/strong>unauthorized colonies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Heritage Public Places:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Area-based improvement approach<\/strong> for revitalizing the commercial and socio-cultural hubs of the city.
