{"id":113910,"date":"2021-06-21T18:00:44","date_gmt":"2021-06-21T12:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=113910"},"modified":"2021-06-21T18:00:44","modified_gmt":"2021-06-21T12:30:44","slug":"health-infrastructure-has-increased-45-fold-during-the-pandemic-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/health-infrastructure-has-increased-45-fold-during-the-pandemic-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Health infrastructure&#8221; has increased 45-fold during the pandemic: Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Government of India has informed the Supreme Court about the status of India\u2019s Healthcare infrastructure to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>India\u2019s Healthcare Infrastructure Status:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>India\u2019s Health Infrastructure <\/strong>has increased up to 45-fold to tackle the successive waves of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The total cumulative vaccine coverage <\/strong>was 27.23 crore doses as of June 19, 2021.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The total intensive care unit(ICU) beds <\/strong>had increased by 45-fold from a baseline of 2,500 to around 1.13 lakh.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The total isolation beds<\/strong> (excluding ICU beds) had climbed 42-fold, from 41,000 to 17.17 lakh.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oxygen-supported beds<\/strong> have multiplied 7.5-fold from 50,000 to around 3.81 lakh.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Around 1.5 lakh health personnel <\/strong>had been engaged on the ground to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The insurance coverage <\/strong>was given to 22.12 lakhs health care workers, including ASHA workers fighting COVID-19.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Testing capacity <\/strong>had been increased from 30,000 tests a day in April 2020 to a high of 22 lakh tests daily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/epaper.thehindu.com\/Home\/MShareArticle?OrgId=GAJ8MJNUN.1&amp;imageview=0\"><strong>The Hindu<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Read Also :-<a class=\"seoquake-params-link\" href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/revitalizing-coal-bed-methane-in-india\/\" rel=\"93ef8104 x_url\">Revitalizing Coal Bed Methane in India<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
