Edge Computing is a\u00a0<\/span>distributed information technology (IT) architecture\u00a0<\/span><\/b>in which client data is stored and processed as near to the originating source as possible.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In simple terms, Edge computing is a computing\u00a0that is\u00a0done at or near the source of the data, instead of relying on the cloud at one of a dozen data centers to do all the work.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whereas in traditional technology data captured by sensors and cameras will be sent to data centers. Then data centers will\u00a0analyse\u00a0and send back the appropriate action to be taken.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For\u00a0example,<\/span><\/b>\u00a0in a self-driving car, for brakes or a sudden turn, captured data will be sent to data centers. Then centers send the\u00a0appropriate action\u00a0back to the car. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whereas in case of edge computing data storage and processor will be in the car.\u00a0So,\u00a0it can take instant decisions in case of emergency.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
