{"id":115454,"date":"2021-06-29T15:43:05","date_gmt":"2021-06-29T10:13:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=115454"},"modified":"2021-06-29T17:06:16","modified_gmt":"2021-06-29T11:36:16","slug":"conflict-between-twitter-and-goi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/conflict-between-twitter-and-goi\/","title":{"rendered":"War of words"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Synopsis \u2013 <\/strong>The ongoing spat between Twitter and the GOI has escalated, with the account of India\u2019s IT minister being temporarily blocked.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Introduction-<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>The Social media platform <strong>Twitter temporarily blocked IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad\u2019s account <\/strong>after receiving a complaint for violation of copyright law.<\/li>\n<li>Prasad lashed out at the Twitter, said that <strong>the micro-blogging platform violated India\u2019s IT Rules by not giving him prior notice of the action.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This comes after the backdrop of the micro-blogging giant being in a tussle with the Indian government since last month over compliance with the country\u2019s new intermediary guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Why twitter blocked IT minister\u2019s account<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Twitter had reportedly received a notice for violations under the DMCA [Digital Millennium Copyright Act], filed by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry [on behalf of Sony Music Entertainment].\n<ul>\n<li>DMCA is an anti-piracy law enforced in the US, which prevents the illegal duplication or selling of copyrighted work on the internet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The content in question being A.R.
