{"id":116044,"date":"2021-07-03T10:49:43","date_gmt":"2021-07-03T05:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=116044"},"modified":"2021-07-06T11:45:26","modified_gmt":"2021-07-06T06:15:26","slug":"indian-researchers-develop-oxyjani-mobile-group-oxygen-concentrator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/indian-researchers-develop-oxyjani-mobile-group-oxygen-concentrator\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Researchers develop OxyJani &#8211; Mobile Group Oxygen Concentrator"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1731966\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>A team from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, an autonomous institute under the Department of Science &amp; Technology, has developed a device named \u2018OxyJani\u2019.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About OxyJani<\/strong>:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>OxyJani <\/strong>is a mobile group <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/how-does-an-oxygen-concentrator-help\/\">oxygen concentrator <\/a>that can be used in rural settings and also be rapidly deployed in emergencies in any location.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technology: <\/strong>It is based on the principles of <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/india-starts-importing-zeolite-for-medical-oxygen-plants\/\">Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology. <\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance: <\/strong>The team replaced lithium <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/india-starts-importing-zeolite-for-medical-oxygen-plants\/\">zeolites<\/a> (LiX) which is usually used in oxygen concentrators with sodium zeolites which do not generate toxic solid waste and can be manufactured in India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Advantages of OxyJani:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Firstly<\/strong>, It is modular and capable of delivering a range of solutions such as conversion of medical air to <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/the-issue-of-medical-oxygen-in-india\/\">medical oxygen.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondly, <\/strong>It is an entirely off-grid solution including all modules that can facilitate deployment in rural areas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thirdly<\/strong>, it is portable just like personal oxygen concentrators and affordable too.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lastly, <\/strong>the waste from the zeolite plant can be potentially a good agricultural input material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
