He appealed in the sessions court, which upheld the Juvenile Justice Board\u2019s decision on March 2, after which the boy\u2019s counsel filed a criminal revision petition in the HC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #f7f2f2;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%;\"><strong>Also Read<\/strong>: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/amendments-to-juvenile-justice-act-explained-pointwise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Juvenile Justice Act 2015<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h5><strong>What did the court say?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Court made some scathing observations regarding juvenile justice act and the role of the legislature.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It remarked that no lessons had been learned from the Nirbhaya case &#8220;as the age of a child is still kept below 16 years in heinous offences under Section 15 of the JJ Act. This gives a free hand to delinquents under the age of 16 to commit heinous offences&#8221;. It wondered &#8220;how many such sacrifices would be needed&#8221;.
