The endeavor attempts to close the digital divide in imparting education amid the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Radio Dhimsa<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a community radio station set up by South Odisha Voluntary Action (SOVA), a Koraput based non-profit.<\/li>\n<li>Radio Dhimsa started broadcasting educational content for students in 2016. After the outbreak of the COVID-19 and when classroom studies had to be stopped, special education programme for children was started.<\/li>\n<li>It broadcasts educational content to over 2,000 students of <strong>classes I-V<\/strong> in 62 villages of six panchayats in Koraput and Lamptaput blocks.<\/li>\n<li>Most of the beneficiaries are the children of <strong>Paraj<\/strong>, one of the tribal communities in the state<\/li>\n<li>The organisation has developed education programs on <strong>Mathematics<\/strong> and <strong>English<\/strong> for primary levels. The program has been designed with the help of <strong>school teachers <\/strong>and <strong>education experts<\/strong> of the district resource group.<\/li>\n<li>All programmes are designed in <strong>Odia <\/strong>and <strong>Desiya dialects<\/strong> as entire tribes and non-tribes do use Desiya as a common communication dialect.<\/li>\n<li>The channel also has shows to create <strong>awareness on <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/how-covid-19-can-be-addressed-via-covid-19-appropriate-behaviour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19 appropriate behaviour<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and <strong>vaccination programme<\/strong> in collaboration with the Koraput administration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Why was Radio Dhimsa set up?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lack of internet connectivity<\/strong>: Odisha State School Education Programme Authority started streaming live classes on YouTube from June 21, 2021.
