{"id":117244,"date":"2021-07-08T18:00:57","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T12:30:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=117244"},"modified":"2021-07-09T19:09:35","modified_gmt":"2021-07-09T13:39:35","slug":"centre-sets-up-new-solar-thermal-components-testing-facility-at-hyderabad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/centre-sets-up-new-solar-thermal-components-testing-facility-at-hyderabad\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre sets up new solar thermal components testing facility at Hyderabad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1733436\"><strong>PIB\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Ministry of Science and Technology has announced the setting up of a Concentrated Solar Thermal(CST) Testing Facility at Hyderabad.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About Concentrated Solar Thermal(CST) Testing Facility:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The CST Testing facility <\/strong>has been set up by the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials(ARCI).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purpose: <\/strong>The facility will help the solar industry to test the capability and performance of solar thermal components like solar receiver tubes, heat transfer fluids, and concentrating mirrors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The facility will validate <\/strong>the components by parallelly comparing the performance (heat gain and heat loss properties) of them with varying operating parameters (e.g. flow rates of Heat Transfer Fluids(HTFs), operating temperature, pressures, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About ARCI:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials(ARCI) <\/strong>was established in 1997.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ministry<\/strong>: It is an Autonomous Research and Development Centre of the Department of Science and Technology(DST).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mandate<\/strong>: ARCI&#8217;s mandate is\n<ul>\n<li>Development of High-Performance Materials and Processes for Niche Markets<\/li>\n<li>Demonstration of Technologies at Prototype\/pilot scale<\/li>\n<li>Transfer of Technology to Indian Industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB\u00a0 \u00a0What is the News?
