{"id":117487,"date":"2021-07-09T21:12:52","date_gmt":"2021-07-09T15:42:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=117487"},"modified":"2021-07-09T21:12:52","modified_gmt":"2021-07-09T15:42:52","slug":"cabinet-approves-india-covid-19-emergency-response-and-health-systems-preparedness-package-phase-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/cabinet-approves-india-covid-19-emergency-response-and-health-systems-preparedness-package-phase-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabinet approves &#8220;India COVID 19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Package: Phase II\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleseDetailm.aspx?PRID=1733841\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The Union Cabinet has approved a new scheme \u2018India COVID-19 Emergency Response &amp; Health System Preparedness Package: Phase-II\u2019 for FY 2021-22.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Objectives of the Scheme:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The scheme aims to <\/strong>accelerate the health system&#8217;s preparedness by providing an immediate response for early prevention, detection, and management with the focus on health infrastructure development including pediatric care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Duration of the Scheme:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>The scheme would be implemented from July 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Components: <\/strong>The scheme has Central Sector (CS) and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) components. These include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Central Sector(CS) Component: <\/strong>Under this, support would be provided for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Setting up Covid exclusive beds at <\/strong>Central Hospitals, AIIMS, and other Institutions of National Importance<\/li>\n<li><strong>Providing Genome Sequencing machines<\/strong> to National Centre for Disease Control(NCDC).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation <\/strong>of Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) in all the District Hospitals of the Country<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expanding <\/strong>the National Architecture of Sanjevani Tele-consultation platform<\/li>\n<li><strong>Information Technology(IT) interventions<\/strong> including strengthening of the Central War room, COVID-19 Portal, and 1075 COVID helplines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Centrally Sponsored Schemes(CSS) Components: <\/strong>Under this, States\/UTs would be supported to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Create Paediatric units<\/strong> in all districts and also establish Paediatric Centre of Excellence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Build 20,000 ICU beds <\/strong>in the public healthcare system, out of which 20% will be Pediatric ICU beds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Install Liquid Medical Oxygen(LMO)<\/strong> Storage Tanks with an aim to support at least one such unit per district.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increase the existing feet of ambulances <\/strong>&#8211; 8,800 ambulances will be added under the package.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Engage<\/strong> Undergraduate and postgraduate medical interns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Flexible support to the Districts <\/strong>for meeting the requirement of essential medicines for COVID-19 management<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
