{"id":118065,"date":"2021-07-12T20:39:11","date_gmt":"2021-07-12T15:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=118065"},"modified":"2021-07-13T12:29:08","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T06:59:08","slug":"samvedan-2021-iit-madras-and-sony-india-team-up-to-host-national-level-hackathon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/samvedan-2021-iit-madras-and-sony-india-team-up-to-host-national-level-hackathon\/","title":{"rendered":"SAMVEDAN 2021: IIT Madras and Sony India team up to host national level hackathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1734357\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation(IITM-PTF) in collaboration with Sony India has organized a national-level hackathon named \u2018SAMVEDAN 2021 &#8211; Sensing Solutions for Bharat\u2019.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About SAMVEDAN 2021:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SAMVEDAN 2021 <\/strong>aims to inspire citizens to use the Internet of Things(IoT) Sensor Board in order to solve India-specific problems of societal interest.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The grand challenge competition<\/strong> is open to all the Indian nationals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About IIM-PTF:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation(IITM-PTF)<\/strong> is a Technology Innovation Hub(TIH).<\/li>\n<li><strong>It is supported by the<\/strong> Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-CPS).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About NM-ICPS:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>NM-ICPS <\/strong>was launched in 2018 by the Department of Science &amp; Technology for a period of five years.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>To create a seamless ecosystem for CPS by coordinating and integrating nationwide efforts encompassing knowledge generation, human resource development, research, technology, innovation, and commercialization.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Under this, <\/strong>Technology Innovation Hubs (TIH), Application Innovation Hubs(AIH) and Technology Translation Research Parks(TTRP) have been established.<\/li>\n<li><strong>These hubs <\/strong>connect the Academics, Industry, Central Ministries, and State Government in developing solutions at reputed academic, R&amp;D and other organizations across the country in a hub and spoke model.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>About Cyber-Physical Systems(CPS):<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cyber-Physical Systems(CPS) <\/strong>are a new class of engineered systems that integrate computation and physical processes in a dynamic environment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It encompasses <\/strong>technology areas of Cybernetics, the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) among others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The potential applications are <\/strong>a) Driverless cars that communicate securely with each other on smart roads, b) Sensors in the home to detect changing health conditions among others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
