{"id":118627,"date":"2021-07-14T17:41:50","date_gmt":"2021-07-14T12:11:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=118627"},"modified":"2021-07-15T19:15:48","modified_gmt":"2021-07-15T13:45:48","slug":"ntpc-to-build-indias-largest-solar-park-in-rann-of-kutch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/ntpc-to-build-indias-largest-solar-park-in-rann-of-kutch\/","title":{"rendered":"NTPC to build India\u2019s largest solar park in Rann of Kutch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1735085\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a 100% subsidiary of NTPC, will set up the country&#8217;s single largest solar park at Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About the Solar Park in Gujarat:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The 4,750-megawatt(MW) Solar Park <\/strong>at Rann of Kutch in Gujarat will be set up by NTPC Renewable Energy ltd.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The project has been approved under<\/strong> Mode 8 (Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park) of Solar Park Scheme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>This will be India&#8217;s largest solar park <\/strong>to be built by the largest power producer of the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Other Projects of NTPC:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>NTPC <\/strong>has commissioned India\u2019s largest Floating Solar of 10 MW on the reservoir of Simhadri Thermal Power Plant, Andhra Pradesh.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Further, <\/strong>a 100 MW Floating Solar Project on the reservoir of Ramagundam Thermal Power Plant, Telangana is in the advanced stage of implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Floating solar <\/strong>refers to a solar power production installation mounted on a structure that floats on a body of water, typically an artificial basin or a lake.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects<\/strong> are a series of solar power projects planned by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.Each power project has a minimum capacity of 500 MW.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects Scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Solar Park Scheme <\/strong>was launched by the Ministry of New &amp; Renewable Energy in 2014.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Under this scheme, <\/strong>it was proposed to set up at least 25 Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects. It aimed at over 20,000 MW of solar power installed capacity within a span of 5 years starting from 2014-15.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The capacity of the Scheme<\/strong> has now been enhanced from 20,000 MW to 40,000 MW in 2017. The parks are also proposed to be set up by 2021-22.<\/li>\n<li><strong>There are eight modes <\/strong>under which the scheme is being implemented.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
