The commemorations will include 75 events for 75 weeks by the Ministry of Power.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Aiming for Sustainable Habitat: New Initiatives in Building Energy Efficiency 2021:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New Initiatives in the Building Sector <\/strong>have been launched by the <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/national-energy-conservation-awards-2020\/\">Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE).<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>This is because <\/strong>the building sector is the second-largest consumer of electricity after industry. It is expected to become the largest energy consuming sector by 2030.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hence<\/strong>, for realizing its importance, the Government is focusing on improving energy efficiency across the building sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What are the initiatives launched?<\/strong> The initiatives which were launched includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Eco Niwas Samhita 2021:<\/strong> It specifies code compliance approaches and minimum energy performance requirements for building services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Handbook of Replicable Designs for Energy Efficient Residential Buildings<\/strong>: It is a web-based learning tool that can be used to create a pool of ready-to-use resources of replicable designs to construct energy-efficient homes in India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Online Directory of Building Materials: <\/strong>It would envisage the process of establishing standards for energy-efficient building materials.<\/li>\n<li><strong>NEERMAN (National Energy Efficiency Roadmap for Movement towards Affordable &amp; Natural Habitat) Awards<\/strong>: It was launched with the goal of encouraging exceptionally efficient building designs complying with BEE\u2019s Energy Conservation Building Codes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Online Star Rating tool for Energy Efficient Homes: <\/strong>It was created to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption in individual homes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training of <\/strong>over 15,000 Architects, Engineers, and Government officials on Energy Conservation Building Code(ECBC) 2017 and Eco Niwas Samhita(ENS) 2021.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
