{"id":122036,"date":"2021-07-29T20:13:52","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T14:43:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=122036"},"modified":"2021-07-30T12:50:45","modified_gmt":"2021-07-30T07:20:45","slug":"international-financial-services-centres-authority-capital-market-intermediaries-regulations-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/international-financial-services-centres-authority-capital-market-intermediaries-regulations-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"International Financial Services Centres Authority (Capital Market Intermediaries) Regulations, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1740038\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>What is the News?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has released the proposed IFSCA (Capital Market Intermediaries) Regulations, 2021.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The regulations provide<\/strong> for regulatory requirements in respect of registration, obligations and responsibilities of various types of capital market intermediaries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>About IFSCA:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) <\/strong>was established in 2020 under the International Financial Services Centres Authority Act, 2019.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Role of IFSCA: <\/strong>The IFSCA is a unified authority for the development and regulation of financial products, financial services and financial institutions in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>At present, <\/strong>the GIFT IFSC in Gandhinagar, Gujarat is the maiden international financial services centre in India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prior to the establishment of IFSCA, <\/strong>the domestic financial regulators, namely, RBI, SEBI, PFRDA and IRDAI regulated the business in IFSC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>What are Intermediaries?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The intermediaries <\/strong>play an important role by providing intermediation facilities between their clients and the various regulated financial products and financial services in the IFSC.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Various types of Capital Market intermediaries include:<\/strong> broker dealers, clearing members, depository participants, investment bankers, portfolio managers, investment advisers, custodians, credit rating agencies, debenture trustees and account aggregators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: PIB What is the News?
